Experience of Korean Traditional Culture for Foreigners
Program Information
The Korea Traditional Culture Experience Center is located on the east and west sides of the departure halls of terminals 1 and 2 of Incheon International Airport. It offers a variety of free experience programs and special exhibitions for Korean and foreign travelers to experience and learn about the traditional culture of Korea.
With the Traditional Costume Experience Program, visitors can try on traditional Korean clothes such as gonnyongpo and dangui. Participants can make handicrafts to take home with them through the Traditional Craft Experience and check out works by artisans designated as national intangible cultural heritage and traditional crafts at the Traditional Craft Exhibition. There is also a place called Digital Experience, where traditional cultural heritage is combined with modern technology.
You can try on beautifully embroidered hanbok and traditional accessories and various types of royal robes. You can even take a picture of yourself in hanbok with the traditional daecheongmaru in the background.

Make your own traditional crafts that you can take home with you to decorate your home or give to family and friends as gifts. Both Korean and foreign travelers can participate in the program for free.

There are national intangible cultural heritage crafts on display to provide a glimpse into the Naeuiwon (medicine dispensary) of Changdeokgung Palace. Admission is free of charge.

Onggi (Korean earthenware) works by artisans designated as intangible cultural heritage and contemporary craftsmen are on display in different sections, divided into Traditionality, Regionality, Artistry, and Practicality. You can enjoy a variety of onggi works that present beauty of simplicity in form and material.

Here, where cultural heritage and modern technology come together, you can enjoy the works of modern artists and artisans designated as national intangible cultural heritage and experience traditional culture through digital technology and media art.

An animation presented using projection mapping technology is screened to present the dynamism of traditional Korean martial arts through the story of Ungeom and Bogum, the king’s bodyguards.
