Taste of Suragan(Royal Kitchen)
Taste of Suragan is a hands-on traditional cultural experience program where you can experience the royal court cuisine culture under the theme of “See, eat, enjoy, and be moved by the royal court culture.”
Check out other experience programs such as Sikdorak & Taste of Suragan, Saenggwabang at Night, and Kitchen Alley to enjoy traditional culture and tranquility, while exploring the Sojubang area of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Program Information
Through this program, you will be able to experience what typically went on in Oesojubang (lit. outer small kitchen) of Gyeongbokgung Palace based on the stories of cooking and royal court cuisine (byeonggwa) told by the Sangseodaegam (Doseolli), the chief of Suragan (the royal kitchen), as well as Daeryeongsuksu and upper court ladies of Suragan. There is also a photo zone with a motif of the king’s kitchen and throne.
All the food made by Saenggwabang at Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was only open during the day, are generously included in this program. This is an experience program where you can enjoy herbal tea and refreshments that were served to the king and queen in Saenggwabang under the moonlight.
This is a program where you can explore the passages of Gyeongbokgung Palace. Guided by a chabi from Sukseolso, you will be able to wander through the alleys between the palace buildings and taste various snacks.
